Live Blogging Blaster Pack 8

Brian from Play At The Plate just joined us.  Welcome, buddy! Hope we pull something you can add to your collection.  Greg from Plashke's Argyle Sweater is with us as well.  Hopefully the power of a trio of Dodger bloggers will now complete the triumvirate to bring Mighty Dodger Cards from our packs!

BTW-  my pack count was way off.  Seems I got my numbers mixed up.  There's 8 cards in a PACK - not in the blaster.  Actually, we have 3 more packs to rip - which is good news because that means MORE CARDS !!!

Here's a great card.  Love the pose, which somehow fits the uni.  I almost hear the silent movie piano soundtrack.

Hmmm...more cards is not always a bonus.  Sometimes it means more cards...of the enemy.

Live Blogging Blaster Pack 5

So Josh D. checked in.  Josh followed along the first time I ripped packs live and I'm very glad to have him along for the ride again. 

I had mentioned in my previous post the teams seemed to be spread around, but Josh rightfully noticed the Royals were missing.  Josh, you asked for Royals, and joining us a second time brought you some Blaster Break Mojo.  Stay tuned, and you'll see something Royal coming up later in this post...

I pulled the base version of this one earlier.  Now comes the sparkle version.

Usually neglected, the Rockies have been popping up here and there in this blaster.

Did somebody request Royals?

It's the 60 YOT version, but I'm glad you asked and it showed.  It certainly is yours if you want it. 
Who knows, this might be the preview for something even more Royally cool to come.  We still have 2 more packs to go, and our patch card.

Live Blogging Blaster Pack 3

Pack 3...

 This Before Topps card is a win for me.  I receieved a couple of these in trades and I really like this little subset. If anybody out there has some of these taking up space in your storage area, I'll be happy to take 'em.

So far my luck seems to be pulling today's Dodgers with yesterdays teams.  Hmmm...

One nice thing about this box, it has a good spread across different teams.

Chris Reed and Night Owl chimed in and gave me some great insight on one of the cards from pack one.  Seems that Brandon Phillips is a Super Short Print with a sparkle on the helmet.  Thanks for the info, boys.  I was certainly wondering about that sparkle myself.

BOOOOOO !!! Man, I hate always pulling this team from packs.  At least he's not wearing one of those black and orange hats. 

Here's a pretty nice looking card.  More sparkly action and the effect is very nice here.  Wish it had been a Dodger, but there's more packs to go.

Live Blogging Blaster Pack 1

In case you join us tonight, drop a quick hello in the comments.  I'd like to know you're out there.

Most of the time, when we write, it's at our leisure and we publish our posts in our own time. However, when we do something live, it's certainly better when it's shared, right?

Yesterday I bought a case of Stone Brewing IPA beers from Costco.  I popped one just now, and although I can't share those with you tonight...I can share pack number one...

 I hardly bought any of this product on its first time around, so most of these cards will be new to me.  As usual, everything is up for trade - unless explicitly stated otherwise.

This is from 60 Years Of Topps.  Is this a special gold frame? Unknown to me.

This is an awesome shot, doncha think?

This card has a different back. It looks like a normal white Topps backside, but all the other base cards have brown cardboard backs.  Again, what's unknown to me is the significance of either back.

Live Blogging Blaster Break -Here We Go Again

Hey everybody,

I was at Target today, so I checked out the card section.  Lo and behold, I spotted a discount blaster.
Which is a WIN for all of us, as that means we'll get another crack at a Live Blaster Break!  Cool, right?

I tried to look into how to do this with a live video feed, but if I can do it through Blogger, they sure made it difficult for me to find out how to do it.  All I could find was how to upload vids after the fact. I figured nobody was going to be interested enough to watch an uploaded video - especially if you have no stake in the outcome, like you would if you paid to join in a break.  So, we're just gonna do it live by scans tonight.

However, I'm looking forward to breaking one live at a later date if someone can point me to the knowledge of how to do it.  It'll have to be another box down the line as I'm tired of looking at the blaster on my table.  I wanna rip packs NOW!
