Hey everybody,
Did you hear about this one ??
I spotted a news story today that i suspect ALL of us with the card collecting bug can identify with, drool over, and feel excited about.
A family out in ohio has found THE HOLY FRICKIN' GRAIL of all card collecting ! Up in grandpa's attic, they found an old, dusty shoebox filled with an absolute treasure - literally - a treasure of baseball cards that:
1. are over a century old,
2. are from a rare and mysterious series, the 'E98's,
3. it's chock full of names like Ty Cobb, Cy Young, Christy Mathewson, and the ol' grandaddy, Honus Wagner, and
4. they are all in incredible mint and near mint condition !!!! (so sez PSA)
WOW !! what a find, right ? here's a link to the story from sports Collector's Daily.
Check this out that's a link to the ongoing auction for the Honus Wagner card. as of this writing, bidding stands at $55,000 ! the auction runs till the end of the month, so you have plenty of time to get in on the action.
It was fun for me to read about it and i wanna share it with all my collecting friends and readers.
WOW ! what a catch. I hope they check out my humble little blog and some of my trade bait will entice them into trading with me !
My wife had me checking the attic of our 12 year old house after this story broke. She doesn't get it.
ReplyDeletehaha hope you were able to find something useful or fun in your attic hunt. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what I was hoping to find in the basement of my grandma's house after my wife and I bought it last year. Sadly, no such luck. :)
ReplyDeleteI think i see now, Eric. it's all about what your grandkids are gonna find in YOUR basement.
