A Surprise Dodgers PWE From Mark H

Aloha, everybody,

I received a surprise PWE from my old friend, Mark H.
Mark specializes in collecting old-time baseball, so I'm betting it will be related to the old-time Dodgers. Let's see what cardboard goodness he sent to me.

Aloha!

Is Cardboard Santa Bringing A PWE To You?

Aloha, everybody,

The next phase of Operation PWE went into effect today as I dropped off all of the envelopes and packages at the post office.

I would like to say THANKS and Merry Christmas ( also Happy Hanukkah) to all of my readers, trade partners and friends who visited my humble little blog throughout the year. This holiday giveaway is my way of giving back to all of you. Just like Santa would do, I studied your want lists, and hopefully I've sent something grooved right into your wheelhouse.

That said, although I wish I could send PWE's to everyone out there, budget and resources do limit me. For example, there are some of you whom I wanted to send cards to, but this year I had a low budget for card purchases. Thus, my trade bait reserves are a bit low right now. Here's hoping next year will turn that around.

Here's a map showing the various states and the number of PWE's or packages headed their way.

I forgot to make a list of the zip codes prior to going out today, so I took a couple of quick snapshots before dropping everything into the mail slot. Check the photos and see if your zip code is among them.

I had already sent the bubble mailers off with the clerk, so I didn't get photos, but I remember sending packages to these zips...
 02766
13601

There were two more packages, but I just can't recall who they were meant for. So if you didn't see your zip code here, there may still be a cardboard stocking stuffer headed your way.

BTW - I sent an email to "I Love The Smell Of Cardboard In The Morning", but I never received a reply. So, if you're out there somewhere and you want your PWE, check your spam mailbox or find my email here on my profile and get in touch with me. Who am I kidding? He probably doesn't even know ATBATT exists. LoL

Aloha!

Operation PWE Is Underway

Aloha, everybody,

After three nights of organizing ATBATT's trade bait reserves, reading your want lists, and stuffing bubble mailers and envelopes, I've completed the first part of my Blogger's Christmas project.

Here are the results...

Now all I need is the time to complete labeling everything and the budget to get it all sent out.

Looks like we just might have a (Plain) White (Envelope) Christmas after all.

Up next: My Desert Island 9. Man, that is a tough one.

Aloha!

Sometimes Angels Work Through Packages From Texas

Aloha everybody,

Last night the Dodgers and Phillies played a marathon 4 1/2 hour game that ended with the Dodgers on top, 10-7. Whew!

Looking at that score you  might think it was an epic slugfest filled with excitement. Nope. It was pretty much baseball torture as the final innings dragged on and on....and on. Watching that game would have convinced even the most anti-pitch-clock, baseball purist that somebody needed to call for a clock on those final pitchers.

Speaking of epic, I recently received a package o' Dodger cards from an Angels fan who lives way out in Texas, so far away from his team, Tom from The Angels, In Order. I sent Tom a little ol' PWE, and he sent me a Texas-sized package of cards in return. Here are some of the highlights...

Nomahhh leads off in sparkling home whites.

I love this "eyes on the ball" shot of Jeff Kent. Great photo of a professional hitter at work.

Eddie Murray cards are always welcome, as are cards with lurking ivy from the friendly confines. Eddie always managed to look like his batting helmets were too small.

These are my first Toys r Us cards. Nice additions.

Welcome to the jungle, Monsieur Gagne.

I'm not a big fan of Holly, but I'm pretty sure I had this same shirt back in the day.

Rafi hung up the spikes this season. Baseball's gonna miss his hustle.

Here come a few oldies but goodies (cards and players)...

Lovin' this Red Turn 2 Turner card. The gold frame really complements his red hair and beard.

I especially love that D-back on his knees bowing to Dodgers awesomeness. All your pools are belong to us!

Mondy taping up is a nice change of pace photo, but I really appreciate the Jackie Robinson 50th anniversary patch. Maybe I should get one of those off the bay one day.

Finally, a great Piazza card. Very cool because it's new for my collection, I love the "barely there" mustache, and the rookie number 60, before Piazza became number 31.

Thanks for the great cards, Tom. They're great additions to my collection.

Aloha!
